Are you a results-driven leader ready to take ownership of a high-performing construction division? We’re looking for a dynamic professional to step into a senior leadership role reporting directly to the Vice President, Construction. In this position, you’ll lead the overall performance, operations, and profitability of our construction division, including paving, asphalt operations, and Pavement Preservation. With full P&L responsibility, you’ll oversee a team of direct and indirect reports, while collaborating with subcontractors and key stakeholders across the business. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple priorities with confidence, and brings a strong blend of operational expertise and strategic thinking. You’ll represent the organization with professionalism, whether working with internal teams, clients, or municipal and provincial partners, while driving growth and operational excellence. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity based in our Niagara construction office.
Job Responsibility:
Drive efficiency and profitability across all Niagara construction operations
Oversee construction projects, paving operations, asphalt plants, shop and equipment management
Preparing budgeting, forecasting, and reviewing financial performance, including P&L and margin reporting
Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and labour regulations across all sites
Conduct site inspections and monitor operational performance to maintain high standards
Collaborate with leadership to develop annual business plans and capital budgets
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, municipalities, and industry partners
Identify growth opportunities through market analysis and strategic planning
Provide leadership and mentorship to supervisors and teams, fostering a positive and productive work environment
Support workforce development through hiring, performance management, and training initiatives
Participate in industry events to stay informed on market trends and innovations
Review estimates, contracts, and negotiate agreements to ensure strong project outcomes
Ensure proper administration of the collective agreement
Requirements:
Minimum 3-year college diploma (CET)
Degree in Commerce, Business, or Civil Engineering is an asset
10+ years of experience in heavy construction (roadbuilding, paving, sewer, water, or earthmoving)
5+ years of leadership experience managing teams and operations
Strong knowledge of construction contracts, tenders, and negotiations
Proven financial acumen, detail oriented with experience managing budgets and analyzing performance
Valid Ontario G Driver’s License in good standing
Experience with HCSS or similar construction software is an asset
Knowledge of GPS/survey systems for heavy equipment is an asset
Nice to have:
