JL Hospitality Management, LLC is seeking an experienced, people-first General Manager to lead the Courtyard Anchorage Airport, one of Anchorage’s premier select-service hotels. This role offers the opportunity to take full ownership of hotel performance while leading a dedicated team within a fast-growing, award-winning hospitality management company. The General Manager is responsible for the overall success of the hotel, including operations, financial performance, guest satisfaction, and associate engagement. We are looking for a visible, hands-on leader who thrives in a high-accountability environment, leads with integrity, and is passionate about delivering “best in brand” service.
Job Responsibility:
Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of all hotel operations, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, and Food & Beverage (as applicable)
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing leadership team and frontline associates
Ensure full compliance with Marriott brand standards, safety requirements, and JL Hospitality Management SOPs
Drive guest satisfaction through proactive service recovery, quality inspections, and property walks
Partner closely with Sales, Revenue Management, HR, Accounting, and Engineering teams to achieve hotel and company objectives
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, labor management, and expense control to maximize profitability
Analyze performance metrics and take decisive action to improve REVPAR, guest scores, and operational efficiency
Participate in weekly leadership, revenue, and company strategy meetings
Serve as the primary ambassador for the hotel within the local community and market
Requirements:
Proven experience as a General Manager or Assistant General Manager in a Marriott select-service hotel (Courtyard experience strongly preferred)
Demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive accountability, and foster a positive, high-engagement culture
Strong operational knowledge across all hotel departments
Solid understanding of hotel financials, including P&L management, labor controls, and budgeting
Experience driving guest satisfaction, brand compliance, and quality assurance results
Proficiency with hotel systems and technology
FOSSE experience preferred
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
Strong problem-solving ability with a hands-on, solutions-oriented mindset
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required in a 24/7 operation
College degree preferred but not required
equivalent hospitality leadership experience will be considered
