Job Description:

General Manager role overseeing the entire Manufacturing site on Cowes for Strainstall, part of BES Group, a leading provider and bespoke manufacturer of load and angle monitoring equipment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Ensuring all operational employees within the Production and Equipment sub-division conduct their daily tasks safely and professionally and to the complete satisfaction of our customers
  • Providing day to day leadership and operational support to 7 direct reports
  • Ensuring teams are motivated and engaged to deliver excellent customer service
  • Setting and delivering the P&L budget
  • Working closely with the sales team in the development of new products and customer propositions
  • Contributing to the costing and pricing of customer bids and tender responses
  • Ensuring customer demand is correctly planned, resourced (people, materials, equipment and transport) and delivered to the required cost, quality and timeline
  • Ensuring all safety, risk and quality management systems are maintained and developed
  • Managing and improving all aspects of financial and operational performance through a suite of cost, quality and service delivery KPI’s

Requirements:

  • Experience of leading technical teams including engineering design, production and software support
  • A proven background in developing operational processes, technologies and people
  • Experience managing budgets, P&L and Cash Management
  • A technical background in bespoke manufacturing, ideally electro-mechanical solution design or bespoke manufacturing
