The General Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership for Motor City Electric Technologies, Inc. This individual will oversee all aspects of business performance including operations, financial management, safety, compliance, project execution, and team development. The General Manager will ensure the company’s goals are achieved through effective planning, efficient operations, and long-term sustainable growth.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee daily business operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to company quality standards
Drive process improvement and operational efficiency across departments including estimating, project management, field operations, and service
Implement best practices for project scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow optimization
Manage company financial performance including revenue, profit margins, job costing, and forecasting
Develop and oversee annual budgets, financial reporting, and tracking to ensure alignment with company objectives
Collaborate with accounting to ensure accurate financial controls, billing, and cash flow management
Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of managers, supervisors, and administrative staff
Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
Support employee training, performance evaluations, and career development initiatives
Promote and enforce a strong safety culture that aligns with company and industry standards
Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and company policies
Partner with safety personnel to maintain proactive safety programs and regular jobsite audits
Develop and execute strategic plans for business growth and market expansion
Identify opportunities for new services, partnerships, and customer relationships
Work closely executive team to position the company for long-term success
Maintain and strengthen relationships with key clients, vendors, and partners
Ensure exceptional customer service and project delivery at all stages of engagement
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in the electrical contracting or low voltage industry
Proven track record of managing operations, budgets, and teams in a construction or technical services environment
Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze data, forecast trends, and drive profitability
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Deep understanding of safety standards, electrical codes, and industry best practices
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred
