Marriott International is seeking a commercially astute and strategically minded General Manager to lead JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa. This is a high-impact leadership role requiring a General Manager who can balance luxury guest experience, operational excellence, and strong commercial performance, while working in close partnership with ownership to drive long-term asset value. The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of revenue strategy, market positioning, and owner alignment, alongside the ability to lead a complex resort operation in one of the world’s most competitive luxury destinations.
Job Responsibility:
Drive overall revenue performance through strategic oversight of pricing, segmentation, and distribution
Partner closely with Revenue Management and Sales to optimise demand across transient, group, and leisure segments
Identify and unlock new revenue opportunities across rooms, F&B, spa, and experiences
Maintain strong market intelligence, ensuring the property is competitively positioned within Venice and the broader luxury landscape
Ensure consistent delivery of JW Marriott brand standards and luxury guest experience
Lead a complex resort operation with a focus on quality, detail, and service excellence
Drive guest satisfaction, reputation, and brand differentiation
Build and develop a high-performing Executive Committee and leadership team
Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement
Champion Marriott’s leadership values and talent development approach
Act as a trusted partner to ownership (KSL), providing clear, data-driven insights and recommendations
Lead regular performance reviews, aligning on strategy, investment, and priorities
Navigate owner expectations with confidence, balancing brand standards and commercial outcomes
Deliver strong GOP performance through disciplined cost control and revenue optimisation
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning
Identify opportunities to enhance profitability and asset value
Requirements:
Proven experience as a General Manager within a luxury hotel or resort environment
Strong commercial background with a clear track record of driving revenue and profitability
Experience working closely with ownership groups or asset managers
Experience in Italy or comparable European luxury markets preferred
Demonstrates strong leadership judgement and strategic thinking
Commercially driven, with the ability to translate strategy into measurable performance
Confident operating in complex, high-expectation environments
Strong communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
