Benchmarx is one of the UK's leading trade kitchen brands, part of Travis Perkins, and our Cabinet Production facility at Brackmills, Northampton, is where it all comes together. Every kitchen we deliver starts here, on the production floor we're looking for you to lead. We're hiring a General Manager to take full operational ownership of our cabinet manufacturing site. This is a senior leadership role with real scope: a management team of six, an extended workforce of 70, around £8m of production and stock under your control, and a direct line to Rosie Wise, Benchmarx Managing Director. If you've built your career in large-scale manufacturing or distribution and you're ready to put your stamp on a site, this is one to look at.
Job Responsibility
Health & Safety first, always. You'll lead our 'Stay Safe' strategy on site, working with Safety Business Partners and the PDH Training Team to build a culture where safety isn't a poster on the wall, it's how we operate
People and culture. Recruit, motivate, coach and develop your team. Drive engagement and create the kind of environment where people want to do their best work
Operational excellence. Run the day-to-day, analyse KPIs, hit SLAs, identify productivity gains, and act as the bridge between Cabinet Operations and our branch network. Manage our third-party transport provider to spec, cost and performance
Quality and stock. Full accountability for stock management systems, inbound and outbound QC, audits, and 100% inventory accuracy
Financial control. Full P&L responsibility, build the budget with finance, deliver to it, and find the savings
Strategic planning. Forecast for peaks like our Big Savings Event, make sure production and transport can flex, and play a key role in wider supply and distribution projects

Demonstrable delivery of efficient manufacturing operations, cost control and on-time customer fulfilment
