We are seeking an exceptional General Manager to lead its Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) through an exciting and transformative phase of growth. This is a rare opportunity to take on a senior leadership role at the forefront of diagnostic innovation, scaling a high-performing CDC, expanding private clinical services, and shaping a best-in-class patient experience across both NHS and private pathways. As General Manager, you will take full operational and commercial accountability for the CDC, leading its expansion from six clinics to a significantly larger, multi-modality diagnostic service. Working closely with the CEO, you will translate strategic vision into delivery, driving growth, building partnerships, and ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and patient care.
Job Responsibility:
Lead the Phase 2 expansion, scaling the CDC from 6 to circa 18 clinical rooms and launching new services
Develop and grow private clinical services, including referral pathways and insurer relationships
Deliver a premium, seamless patient experience across all diagnostic pathways
Provide full operational leadership across NHS, private, and research activity
Own performance against KPIs, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
Build and lead a high-performing multidisciplinary team
Take responsibility for budget management and private services P&L
Develop strong partnerships with NHS Trusts, commissioners, insurers, and academic collaborators
Drive continuous improvement, efficiency, and innovation across the CDC
Requirements:
Significant senior operational or executive experience within a private hospital, independent healthcare provider, or NHS private services
Proven experience delivering large-scale service expansion and/or transformation
Strong commercial acumen, with experience growing private or fee-paying services
Deep understanding of healthcare governance and regulation (e.g. CQC, QSI, IRMER)
A track record of delivering operational performance, financial targets, and quality outcomes
Outstanding leadership and stakeholder management skills
The ability to build and inspire high-performing teams
Nice to have:
Desirable experience includes multi-modality diagnostics, private patient services within NHS settings, and postgraduate leadership or management qualifications.
