Job Description:

This role is all about creating a workplace where people thrive – through counselling services, wellbeing activities, staff training, and residential support for our National Indigenous Training Academy (NITA) trainees. You’ll provide clinical leadership, manage programs, and build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners. Job Responsibility:

  • Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team to deliver culturally responsive wellbeing programs
  • Provide evidence-informed clinical leadership and critical incident response
  • Design and deliver programs that support staff wellbeing, including budget management and compliance reporting
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships to achieve strategic outcomes
  • Champion cultural safety and inclusion across all wellbeing initiatives
  • Facilitate culturally safe evidence-based initiatives to enhance the social, emotional, spiritual and cultural wellbeing of all staff members
  • Support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, including trainees in the on-site residential National Indigenous Training Academy (NITA)
  • Develop and deliver outcomes through professional counselling services, dynamic activities program, staff training opportunities and the residential support program for NITA trainees

Requirements:

  • Strong background in the community services sector
  • Experience and empathy
  • Understanding of the unique strengths and challenges faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
  • Genuine willingness to listen and learn
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in social work or a related field
  • Hands-on experience managing wellbeing programs
  • Ability to think strategically, lead with confidence, and collaborate effectively in a cross-cultural and complex environment
  • Current Working with Children's Check or ability to obtain one
  • Valid Open Australian Drivers License
