Job Description

Surrounded by verdant foliage, each of W Koh Samui ‘s 74 villas boast a private outdoor pool and infinite island views. The resort has two vibrant restaurants for guests to dine at. The Kitchen Table serves Thai and international dishes in a casual setting, while NAMU by the beach offers modern and chic Japanese cuisine. Open from day to night, WOOBAR offers iconic views of the northern coast of the Gulf of Thailand and features W's catchy music, signature cocktails, innovative lighting and creative snacks. The resort also offers 2 meeting events with total event space of 1,614 sq ft and facilities such as the AWAY Spa. The luxurious 5-star W Koh Samui features its own sandy beachfront on Mae Nam Beach and is a 20-minute drive from Samui International Airport.

Job Responsibility

  • Functions as the primary strategic business leader of the property with responsibility for all aspects of the operation, including guest and employee satisfaction, human resources, financial performance, sales and revenue generation and delivering a return on investment to both Marriott International and property ownership
  • Verifies implementation of service strategy and initiatives with the objective of meeting or exceeding guest expectations, increased profit and market share
  • Holds property leadership team accountable for strategy execution, and guides their individual professional development
  • The position verifies that sales engines are leveraged and initiates independent and proactive sales activities, when appropriate, to generate demand
  • Verifies that the objectives and goals of Marriott and property owners work together to achieve brand positioning and success
  • Builds owner loyalty through proactive communication, setting and managing expectations and delivering solid business results
  • The position is actively involved in the local community and builds strong relationships with local officials, businesses, and customers

Requirements

  • Previous work experience in Asia Pacific, especially in South East Asia market as a General Manager, with lifestyle brand and resort experiences preferred
  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
  • 8 years’ experience in the management operations, sales and marketing, finance and accounting, or related professional area OR 4-year bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
  • 6 years’ experience in the management operations, sales and marketing, finance and accounting, or related professional area

Nice to have

Previous work experience in Asia Pacific, especially in South East Asia market as a General Manager, with lifestyle brand and resort experiences preferred
