Job Description:

The BUGM is responsible for leading the strategic direction, operational excellence, and commercial success of the metabolism product portfolio in China. This role involves overseeing the entire product lifecycle, from pipeline planning to the successful launch and commercialization of new products. The GM will drive market penetration and revenue generation across the region, ensuring that strategies are tailored to meet both global goals and local market expectations.

Job Responsibility:

  • Set long-term vision for Pfizer and develop strategies unique to the needs of the category to maximize the patient impact and the revenue for Pfizer
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase product awareness, market penetration, and revenue generation across the region
  • Ensure launch readiness for new products/ indications through robust development of launch strategy and market preparedness
  • Establish innovative GTM to address key hurdles in meeting patients’ unmet needs in China and continuously improve the disease awareness, accessibility, and affordability in the therapeutic area
  • Drive execution of campaigns, POAs, tactics, customer plans and successful launch execution of key brands within the category
  • Optimize the performance and manage daily operations of the business
  • Manage and integrate sales efforts across hospital, e-commerce, and retail channels, driving cross-channel synergies, ensuring alignment of strategies and performance metrics to maximize business growth
  • Optimize the revenue growth and manage IBT of the category by making active trade-off and resource allocation decisions to enable growth through focused investments
  • Manage expenses and investments according to plan goals
  • Monitor performance of the business and implement course-correcting actions in agreement with China President / leadership team
  • Drive strategic portfolio planning and collaborate with internal key stakeholders to drive pipeline acceleration and explore innovative pathways wherever possible
  • Build alignment across functions and management layers to advocate for China priorities in METABOLISM area and secure sufficient pipeline investment in METABOLISM to optimize future growth potential
  • Proactively engage and influence internal key stakeholders to advocate for China’s metabolism business priorities and build alignment on cross-functional support that best fit for business needs and obtain leadership buy-ins
  • Lead the science conversation with external key stakeholders (e.g. KOL, government, etc.) and enhance Pfizer China’s engagement and influence in the METABOLISM eco-system to continuously improve METABOLISM patients’ life in China
  • Lead and coach a high performing team and develop colleagues in line with the Pfizer competency models. Energize and inspire colleagues at all levels to generate commitment to the business and ensure the creation of a climate and values which will support short- and long-term business success
  • A role model of integrity. Ensure that all activities are conducted in accordance with company policies and SOPs, Pfizer values, and global guidelines (including MAPP, FCPA) as appropriate

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of diverse commercial experience, including management and people manager experience
  • Extensive pharmaceutical and broader healthcare business knowledge
  • Proven track record of successful product launches in primary care and cross key channels (hospital, e-commerce, retail), or at least a clear understanding of these channels
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s Degree preferred
  • P&L management experience and financial acumen
  • Lead high performing teams while maintaining highest integrity, inspiring and motivating the organization toward achieving common goals
  • Demonstrated ability to build alignment behind a unified team goal and lead an organization to success
