Job Description

The General Manager manages overall store operations and the achievement of company goals and directives. This position would float from store to store, learning everything about our way of doing things, and covering for manager absences until a new store is acquired or a position otherwise becomes available.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage overall store operations and the achievement of company goals and directives
  • Provide positive representation of store
  • Proactively assist customers in solving problems
  • Greet customers
  • Handle customer complaints
  • Ensure a positive, professional and safe work environment
  • Supervise the general operations of the entire store
  • Responsible for opening and closing the store
  • Assist with the implementation of Store Support Center programs
  • Ensure successful Loss Prevention, Safety and Internal Audits
  • Work with General Manager and Assistant Manager on all aspects of running the store
  • Participate in weekly management staff meetings
  • Communicate issues with General Manager
  • Implement new Standard Operating Procedures
  • Assist with daily maintenance, orderliness and cleanliness
  • Ensure that weekly price changes and label updates are completed
  • Oversee all Store functions including training, maintenance, audits, and reports
  • Manage and direct preventative maintenance and repairs
  • Assist to ensure forklift operations and receiving is completed safely
  • Assist to ensure receiving, checking in and stocking adheres to best practices
  • Responsible for maintenance of back stock levels
  • Assist to ensure cycle counts and negative on hand reports are completed
  • Assist in ordering and maintaining desirable product inventory levels
  • Assist with merchandise resets
  • Assist to ensure all signage is current
  • Assist in presenting a clean and orderly sales floor
  • Assist in training of all associates
  • Actively recruit and promote the advancement of Ace associates
  • Assist in hiring, training, scheduling, reviewing, rewarding and coaching Head Cashiers and Cashiers, Sales Associates, Assistant Managers
  • Manage all aspects of store operations
  • Lead by example
  • Communicate any merchandising, cost control or sales idea to the General Manager
  • Prepare and challenge yourself for future advancement

Requirements

  • High School or GED equivalent
  • Previous retail management experience preferred
  • Hardware experience preferred
  • Completion of NHRA Advanced Course in Hardware Retailing recommended
  • At least 2 years of previous retail management experience
  • Physical Demands: Standing, walking, lifting (up to 50lbs) and climbing
