Job Description

This is one of the most critical and visible leadership roles in our North America business. As General Manager & Commercial Head, Canada, you will lead the Canadian subsidiary end-to-end—owning strategy, execution, and performance across the business. You are the single-point owner of the Canada P&L, accountable for driving profitable growth, expanding market share, and delivering a world-class customer experience across all commercial channels. You will operate at the intersection of strategy and execution—aligning Canada with North America and global priorities while ensuring local market success. Your leadership will directly influence revenue, market position, and organizational performance across the country.

Job Responsibility

  • Define and execute a Canadian commercial strategy aligned with North America and global priorities
  • Translate enterprise objectives into clear, actionable plans that drive growth and accountability
  • Lead through transformation, continuously evolving strategy, structure, and execution
  • Own the Canada P&L end-to-end, including annual operating plans, budgets, forecasts, and profitability
  • Establish performance cadence with clear KPIs, reporting, and course correction as needed
  • Drive forecasting rigor, pipeline visibility, and disciplined resource allocation
  • Lead the commercial organization to accelerate revenue growth and expand market share
  • Elevate sales execution through CRM discipline, training, tools, and scalable processes
  • Oversee tenders, service management, and commercial operations to improve efficiency and outcomes
  • Operate effectively within a North America matrix across Finance, HR, RA/QA, IT, and Operations
  • Ensure Canada is fully aligned with enterprise strategy, governance, and processes
  • Foster seamless collaboration across regions and functions
  • Build and maintain executive relationships with key customers, partners, and industry stakeholders
  • Represent KARL STORZ as a trusted leader in the Canadian market
  • Anticipate market trends, competitive dynamics, and regulatory changes to inform strategy
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing leadership team
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience across sales, marketing, and/or product management in Med Device
  • 5+ years of senior leadership experience with significant commercial scope and P&L ownership
  • Proven track record of delivering profitable growth at the Director level or above
  • Demonstrated success leading through transformation and building high-performing teams
  • Ability to operate effectively in a complex, matrixed organization
  • Strong business acumen across planning, forecasting, and performance management
  • Proficiency with ERP, CRM, and analytics tools
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to translate insights into action
  • Exceptional executive presence and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to influence across functions, regions, and levels without direct authority
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred
