General Maintenance Engineer I

• Perform a variety of work in the maintenance and repair of general building and grounds including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and painting tasks
• Notify management concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment
• Respond to guest requests for service according to company policy. Keep records of rooms completed
• Clean, lubricate, protect, and otherwise maintain all tools and equipment in the hotel
• Learn emergency procedures
• Complete various additional tasks and assignments as needed

• A minimum of one year building maintenance experience is required, preferably in the hotel industry
• Good customer skills are also required
• Experience with basic plumbing and electrical systems in building maintenance
• Experience with scissors lift will be an asset
• Consistently practices safe work habits including but not limited to the use of personal protective equipment, lifting and reporting of unsafe situations
• Excellent verbal and communication skills
• Computer proficient in Word and Excel
• Must be able to work on tasks with minimum to no supervision
• Must be able to perform physical activities such as lifting equipment (up to 50lbs unassisted), bending, standing, climbing, stooping, crawling or walking while carrying out job functions
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time outdoors and indoors in working conditions exposed to heights, noise, vibration, heat, water, chemicals, fumes and dust
• Ability to work a flexible schedule
• weekends, holidays, overnight shifts

Experience with scissors lift will be an asset
