Job Description:

Working as Full-time General Ledger Staff Accountant, you will enjoy the opportunity to participate in a fast-paced work environment focusing on a variety of accounting duties for Fastenal's world-wide locations. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.

Job Responsibility:

  • Performing and monitoring general ledger journal entry and reconciliation activities
  • Performing monthly reconciliations for domestic and foreign bank accounts and accounting subsystems
  • Processing accounting system updates to general ledger accounts and departments
  • Assisting in divisional reporting communications with company leadership and other departments
  • Communicating with other departments to resolve accounting issues and reconciling items identified in the reconciliation processes
  • Processing various month-end, quarter-end, and annual close activities including general ledger and accounting subsystem reporting and audit activities
  • Participating in development projects, planning, testing and implementation
  • Performing special projects, analysis and other administrative tasks as necessary

Requirements:

  • Possess or are working towards a bachelor's degree in Accounting OR have relevant work experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities
  • Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills
  • Work independently as well as in a team environment

  • Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)
