Job Description:

Randstad is seeking General Labourers for a client in Ottawa. This position involves the frequent lifting, carrying, and moving of boxes and other materials. The work is fast-paced and requires the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The position offers a competitive hourly rate and the opportunity to develop job skills in a neat and organized facility.

Job Responsibility:

Lift, push, pull, and carry boxes weighing up to 50 lbs
Move boxes manually and via hand carts
Process orders and move boxes of files, books, binders, backup tapes and other materials
Read labels and process incoming and outgoing orders
Use the proprietary computer system to track orders and determine the location of boxes
Operate hand held scanner
Climb and balance on ladders
Load, operate and move hand carts, pallet jacks and various other material handling aids
Load and shrink wrap pallets at ground level, or on carts
Load boxes onto pallets and load pallets onto trucks manually and with material handling aids

Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry boxes weighing up to 50 lbs
Ability to stand, walk, kneel, squat, bend, and twist for extended periods
Ability to safely operate hand trucks and pallet jacks
Ability to read and write
Experience in a physically demanding role is preferred / previous General Labour experience
