As a General Labour professional, your day-to-day activities will revolve around transforming raw materials into finished components ready for the final coating stage. Job Responsibility
Perform paint preparation tasks on various steel structures and components to ensure proper coating adhesion
Use specialized hand and power tools to sand, grind, and smooth out steel surfaces according to technical specifications
Inspect finished steel pieces for defects, uneven surfaces, or remaining debris before moving them to the painting station
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace within the manufacturing facility by clearing debris and storing tools properly
Assist fellow team members with material handling and moving heavy steel parts safely across the production floor
Follow all established health and safety guidelines, including the mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Report any equipment malfunctions or material defects immediately to the shop supervisor to minimize production downtime
Requirements
Previous experience in a general labour, manufacturing, or industrial production setting is preferred
Demonstrated ability to safely operate a variety of hand tools and power tools
Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and sanding steel components consistently
Reliable transportation to ensure punctual arrival for the 8:30 AM day shift in Burlington
Strong commitment to workplace health and safety protocols, including wearing steel-toed boots
Availability to complete the full duration of the short-term contract assignment
