Job Description

The General Help/Driver person is responsible for transporting goods by van or carts etc to various locations on and off campus (catering purposes only). They are responsible for inspecting their delivery vehicle, verifying lists, and loading and unloading goods to be transported. The delivery person is also responsible for keeping detailed records of their deliveries, including but not limited to temperature checks, transfer paperwork. The delivery person will be responsible to notify the manager/supervisor on duty when product has arrived at the location and ensure a signature from the manager/supervisor as proof of product received.

Job Responsibility

  • Drive van to transport product, both on and off campus (catering purposes only)
  • Supporting locations on campus with items required for business
  • Delivery in a timely manner to locations
  • Preparing, loading, unloading, and operating the delivery modes of transportation
  • Temperature checks for goods being transported
  • Daily vehicle inspection required and recorded
  • Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures, including proper food safety and sanitation
  • Adhere to all government/University policies and legislation, including but not limited to: Food Safety and Sanitation, Occupational Health and Safety, Employment Standards, Human Rights & Labor Law and Harassment
  • Supports stores/receiver person with tasks when not transporting items on campus
  • Daily sign off on paperwork dealing with temperatures, vehicle checks, cleaning
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned by Catering Manager

Requirements

  • Demonstrates an understanding of basic sanitation procedures
  • Must be able to follow basic safety procedures due to exposure to hazardous chemicals
  • Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
