The General Foreman is a senior field leader responsible for driving jobsite safety, field production results, and crew performance. This individual will coordinate day-to-day operations, manage multiple foremen and crews, and ensure all activities align with the project's budget, schedule, and quality requirements. The ideal candidate brings a balance of field expertise, leadership, and discipline in managing resources and timelines.
Job Responsibility:
Own and enforce all aspects of jobsite safety, ensuring full compliance with OSHA and EZARC standards
Lead and be accountable for achieving daily and weekly production targets while maintaining quality and safety
Supervise and support multiple Working Foremen and Ironworker crews during all phases of structural steel erection
Coordinate daily activities with the Project Superintendent, including manpower, equipment, and material logistics
Monitor productivity, work sequencing, and scheduling to drive jobsite efficiency
Review project drawings, field details, and changes to ensure correct steel installation
Proactively identify and resolve constructability and coordination issues
Conduct safety meetings, toolbox talks, and job hazard analyses
Track and report performance metrics
ensure timecards and reports are accurate and timely
Mentor and develop field leadership, promoting a culture of accountability and pride in craftsmanship
Act as a primary field liaison between crews, project management, and other trades
Requirements:
Journeyman Ironworker with 8–10 years of experience in structural steel
3–5 years in a supervisory role
Demonstrated success in leading safe, productive crews on large-scale steel projects
Deep knowledge of steel erection techniques, rigging, crane operations, layout, and connections
OSHA 30 certification required
Strong ability to read and interpret structural drawings and specifications
Excellent communication, leadership, and conflict resolution skills
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Nice to have:
NCCCO or similar rigging/signalperson certification
Experience with commercial, industrial, or data center steel structures
