Responsibilities extend to commuter, regional, and state mechanical operations, including contractor management and oversight of multiple sites
Supervises equipment inspection, maintenance, and repair programs to enhance availability and reliability
Provides primary leadership for shift or facility, ensuring effective communication of mechanical, safety, and material issues
Utilizes Safety Management System to identify and address risks through analysis and execution
Ensures compliance with Amtrak and regulatory requirements for rolling stock maintenance
Manages scheduling and execution of work orders, overseeing proper documentation and recording of results
Requirements:
Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience
Plus 3 years of relevant work experience
Proven leadership and decision-making abilities
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills demonstrated
Effective oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills
Familiarity with industry quality standards and ISO quality procedures
Understanding of mechanical crafts and labor contracts
Capability to identify and implement change initiatives to address persistent issues
Nice to have:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience
Plus 5 years of relevant work experience
