Justteachers is delighted to be recruiting for a dedicated and adaptable General Cover Teacher on behalf of a welcoming and vibrant Secondary School in the Northampton area. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic education professional seeking a rewarding short-term role within a supportive and forward-thinking school environment. The position is due to begin in June 2026, with shortlisting currently underway. The school has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality education and outstanding pastoral support. Job Responsibility

Deliver engaging pre-set lessons across a variety of secondary subjects
Provide classroom cover for KS3 and KS4 students
Maintain a positive, safe, and well-managed learning environment
Uphold school policies and contribute positively to the school community and ethos
Support students with varying learning needs, including SEN where required
Encourage student participation, confidence, and progress within lessons

Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Previous experience teaching or supporting children within a school setting
Strong understanding of the UK secondary curriculum
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
The ability to adapt quickly across different subject areas
Two recent education-based references
