Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient General Cover Teacher to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in the Hailsham area on a 1-year maternity cover contract. This is a full-time role, starting ASAP, working primarily with Year 8 pupils. The successful candidate will deliver general cover across a range of subjects, supporting students with additional social, emotional, and behavioural needs in a structured and nurturing environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across the curriculum
  • Support pupils with SEMH and SEND needs
  • Establish positive relationships and manage behaviour effectively
  • Work collaboratively with support staff and the wider school team
  • Promote a safe, consistent, and supportive learning environment

Requirements:

  • QTS preferred, however unqualified teachers will be considered
  • Essential experience working within SEMH and/or SEND settings
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Calm, patient, and adaptable approach
  • Passionate about supporting vulnerable learners
