Our client is a national energy solutions firm specializing in Mission Critical Infrastructure, Energy Efficiency, and EV Charging Infrastructure. Led by a team with nearly 30 years of experience, the company develops energy strategies that help organizations power what matters, reduce energy waste, and electrify operations through customized, results-driven strategies. As the company continues to scale, they are seeking an experienced General Counsel to serve as a strategic legal partner to the executive team and support their growing project portfolio. The General Counsel will lead all legal functions for company, with a strong focus on contracts and risk management within the power construction and energy infrastructure space. This role will provide practical, business-oriented legal guidance across construction contracts, project development, compliance, corporate governance, and dispute management. The ideal candidate brings deep experience supporting power construction, EPC, or energy services organizations and is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
Job Responsibility:
Serve as the primary legal advisor to executive leadership and business stakeholders
Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide range of contracts, including EPC agreements, MSAs, subcontracts, vendor agreements, and joint ventures
Provide legal oversight for power construction projects, including risk allocation, claims avoidance, and dispute resolution
Advise on regulatory, compliance, and permitting matters related to energy and power infrastructure
Support corporate governance, entity management, and board-related matters
Manage outside counsel and legal spend as needed
Develop and implement internal contract standards, policies, and risk mitigation processes
Partner closely with operations, project management, finance, and procurement teams to support project execution
Requirements:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Active bar membership in good standing
License to practice law in the state of GA
Proven experience negotiating and managing contracts in the power construction, energy infrastructure, or EPC environment
Strong background in construction law, commercial contracts, and risk management
