Job Description

The Noel Studio is an integrated support service dedicated to improving students' understanding of and practices in research, writing, and communication. To support the integrated nature of the Noel Studio, Consultants are cross-trained to assist with a variety of communication products (written essays, oral presentations, research posters, etc.) at any point in the development process (brainstorming, researching, drafting/practicing, editing, etc.). Consultants are required to assist students from across the curriculum, working with creative pieces as well as traditional academic products from nearly all disciplines represented at EKU. Consultants will work with students both individually and in small groups as needed, and may also facilitate/co-facilitate workshops in research, writing, and/or communication for the campus community. Consultants meet once per week as a group and participate in mandatory, paid training and professional development.

Job Responsibility

  • Attend face-to-face and zoom consultations with students
  • Attend weekly professional development seminars
  • Potentially leading and/or participating in workshops
  • Keeping a professional manner, attitude, and relationship with all who visit the space

  • Partner with auditors and support tax-related documentation and filing requirements as needed
  • Review and analyze accounting data across areas such as job costing, fixed assets, inventory, and payroll
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to address accounting questions and resolve financial discrepancies
  • Provide backup support for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions when business needs require
  • Perform bank and general ledger reconciliations to help ensure completeness and accuracy of financial records
