Job Description

Learning Support Assistant – Mainstream Primary (General Classroom Support). Are you warm, enthusiastic, and passionate about helping children thrive? We are looking for fantastic Learning Support Assistants to support mainstream primary schools across Sussex. Perfect for anyone looking to build school experience or step into a long-term role.

Job Responsibility

  • Supporting the class teacher with day‑to‑day learning
  • Working with groups of pupils on phonics, reading and maths
  • Assisting with classroom set‑up, activities and transitions
  • Building positive relationships with pupils
  • Helping create a calm, supportive learning environment

Requirements

  • Experience working with children (school, nursery or youth setting)
  • A positive, patient and proactive attitude
  • Good communication skills
  • Someone reliable and committed
  • Hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services
