Job Description:

The General Cashier is responsible for managing and reconciling all cash transactions within the hotel to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial policies. This role supports the business by safeguarding cash assets and maintaining smooth financial operations that contribute to overall profitability and guest satisfaction.

Job Responsibility:

  • Ensure all local and corporate policies, rules, internal controls and procedures and safeguards are in place, as they relate to House Banks
  • Retrieve deposit envelopes from the drop safe for processing, accompanied by a Security Officer or the Director of Finance's designate
  • Audit cashiers’ daily deposits and prepare the daily hotel deposit
  • Count, balance, organize and monitor own Bank and safe
  • Process foreign currencies in accordance to local policy
  • Prepare and distribute Cashiers’ due backs
  • Prepare the Daily Cash Report
  • Issue Cashier Banks and assign safety deposit boxes for safekeeping of the Banks
  • Prepare and maintain a log on all issued House Banks
  • Make petty cash disbursements according to established guidelines
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Director of Finance or Assistant Director of Finance
  • Maintain an accurate, orderly and up-to-date file for all outstanding Bank contracts
  • File documents and reports

Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to prepare and deliver reports
  • Apply an ethical approach to the outcome of situations
  • Plan and monitor duties to ensure effective and efficient use of all available resources
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to work with peers, superiors and clients
  • Use Sample and efficient time to fully grasp the financial and practical implications before making a decision
  • Demonstrate the ability to multi-task
