Job Description:

Do you like working outdoors as well as inside? Do you have a range of practical skills to offer? If so, our Water Recycling team in the West are looking to recruit an Asset Improvement Operator to join the team. The role will involve working across water recycling centres (WRC) in the West area of our region. This is an on site reporting role where you will be expected to travel to different sites across the area to complete your work.

Job Responsibility:

  • Repairing and maintaining various assets including waste treatment process and civil assets
  • general maintenance repairs on buildings and welfare facilities
  • fitting/repairing doors
  • concreting and general building and groundworks
  • installing and maintaining pathways
  • track repairs
  • emergency site security works
  • health and safety works
  • performing maintenance work on process assets including settlement tank cleans and repairs
  • clean water legionella tank cleans
  • working on various process plant including lagoons, reed beds and biological filters

Requirements:

  • Building/groundworks background
  • qualifications or knowledge and experience of groundworks, masonry, or carpentry work
  • ideally multiskilled with basic knowledge of plumbing
  • relevant plant tickets to operate excavators, dumpers and other plant (or willingness to obtain these)
  • health, safety and welfare awareness
  • self-motivated
  • effective communicator
  • basic IT skills
  • ability and willingness to work as part of a team
  • valid clean driving licence
