Job Description

As part of the talented General Assembly Team, you will be a front-line leader who as a part of the trainer team sets up jobs, trains operators, makes improvements to the department, and is a liaison to support teams.

Job Responsibility

  • Responsibilities as defined for General Assembly Operator
  • Train newly hired, temporary, and cross-training employees, in proper manufacturing techniques as detailed in DWIs
  • Understand and train employees of floor layout (5S)
  • Be knowledgeable, practice and reinforce safety rules and guidelines
  • Be capable of properly recording labor and explaining how to understand production rates
  • Work with Operators and Production Pickers to ensure cells are fully stocked with parts to complete production orders
  • Be able to perform set up functions in all product families, including 1st piece where required
  • Assist Operators who are having problems and call in outside help where needed
  • Have an understanding of ISO requirements and our Quality Management System
  • Have an understanding and communicate company metrics

Requirements

  • Meet qualifications for General Assembly Operator
  • Be knowledgeable and proficient in all product families within respective department
  • Dependable – have a good attendance record
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and lead others
  • Able to stand or walk for 8 hour shifts
  • Able to move between cells
  • Able to pick up 40 lbs occasionally
