Job Description:

Serve as a Ledger Owner for one of GM-Europe Entities maintaining accurate and timely financial reports, ensuring compliance to policies and regulatory requirements, (SEC requirements, accounting, audit/SOX/Non-SOX) providing valuable insights to support strategic business decisions through financial analyses, leveraging financial systems and processes that increase clarity, improve efficiency, shorten decision cycle times, and reinforce financial integrity and accountability.

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform operationally the month-end/quarter-end/year end close, reporting/trend analysis and account reconciliation
  • Prepare and analyze Trial Balance/other reports highlighting trends and variances for management review
  • Identify, interpret, and analyze potential accounting risks/issues and execute preventive measure to avoid from recurring
  • Analyze and conduct thorough review of general ledger accounts to maintain accuracy and integrity of financial data
  • Identify and execute internal controls, SOX/Non-SOX compliance and financial procedures
  • Collaborate closely with cross functional team to ensure accurate and timely reporting, account reconciliation and other project deliverables
  • Assist with internal and external financial reporting
  • Evaluate the current process/practices, Identify, and drive various projects/initiatives for operational efficiency and continuous improvement
  • Serve as subject matter expert for the team, mentor and coach as needed
  • Accommodate adhoc tasks as needed by the business
  • Research and interpret new accounting standards and brainstorm how each apply to GM as well as comply with external 10-Q/10-K reporting requirements

Requirements:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to details
  • With proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance
  • Minimum of 5 years experienced in Accounting and Finance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP Systems (SAP/Oracle)

Nice to have:

  • Certified Public Accountancy license
  • Global Accounting and Finance experience either in Global Shared Services/BPO set-up
