Chichester College Group is seeking an engaging and resilient GCSE English Teacher to deliver aspirational, purposeful English lessons to students re‑sitting their GCSE, primarily those studying Construction and related vocational programmes. GCSE English is a key progression hurdle for construction learners, and we are looking for someone who genuinely understands the challenge this presents and is motivated by helping students overcome it. This role is ideally suited to an English specialist who can connect with vocational learners, build trust quickly, and deliver engaging, relevant lessons that clearly demonstrate how English skills support life, work, and long‑term career progression within industry.
Job Responsibility:
Teach GCSE English to students re-sitting their GCSE, primarily construction students
Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned to exam board specification
Use effective assessment and feedback strategies
Manage and positively channel challenging behaviour
Support students to develop English skills for employment and further study
Requirements:
Qualified English specialist (teaching qualification preferred)
Experience working with vocational learners or resit students
Strong classroom management skills
Ability to motivate and engage students with low confidence
Ability to plan and deliver lessons aligned to exam board specification
