Aya Locums has an immediate opening for a 2 week locum Gastroenterology Physician job in Dubois, Pennsylvania, paying $3,700/day - $3,950/day.

Job Responsibility:

  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of digestive system disorders in adults and potentially children (depending on the position)
  • Conduct comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as endoscopies, X-rays, CT scans and blood tests
  • Perform endoscopic procedures to diagnose and treat digestive conditions (depending on the scope of practice)
  • Develop and implement treatment plans
  • Manage chronic digestive conditions and provide ongoing patient care
  • Collaborate with surgeons, radiologists and other specialists when needed to ensure coordinated care
  • Educate patients on digestive health and disease prevention
  • Maintain accurate and complete medical records for all patients
  • Stay current on the latest advancements in gastroenterology through continuing education

Requirements:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school
  • Residency training program in internal medicine accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA)
  • Fellowship training in gastroenterology (may be preferred depending on the position)
  • Board certification in gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the AOA
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in Pennsylvania
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS
  • At least one year of experience providing gastroenterology care in a clinical or hospital setting
