Gastroenterologist Physician Assistant

• Perform and document history and physical examinations
• Write appropriate admission orders
• Review abnormal findings and coordinate additional testing or consultations
• Document progress notes
• Evaluate unstable patients and initiate emergency management
• Collaborate on procedure scheduling
• Assist with data collection
• Provide patient education
• Write and manage postoperative orders
• Monitor early postoperative period
• Initiate treatment of postoperative complications
• Communicate effectively with attending physicians
• Perform daily patient assessments
• Complete discharge summaries

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program required
• Minimum 3 years of Gastroenterologist experience preferred
• Demonstrated expertise in first assisting and bedside management of Gastroenterologist patients
• Current, unrestricted Physician Assistant license issued by the State of CA
• Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
• Maintenance of appropriate CME requirements
• Current ACLS and BLS certification
• Active DEA license
• Written prescription privilege protocols signed by all attending physicians

Minimum 3 years of Gastroenterologist experience preferred
