To deliver high-quality training and assessment in gas pressure management, supporting apprentices to develop the skills, knowledge, and behaviours required to meet industry standards, while ensuring compliance, safety, and successful programme outcomes.
Job Responsibility
Plan, design, and deliver gas pressure management apprenticeship programmes in line with industry standards and awarding body requirements
Develop structured lesson plans, schemes of work, and training materials tailored to apprentice needs and varying competency levels
Deliver high-quality training sessions (classroom, workshop, and on-site) covering gas pressure systems, safety procedures, maintenance, and operational best practice
Ensure all training aligns with relevant legislation, standards (e.g. IGEM), and organisational policies
Monitor learner progress and adapt teaching approaches to meet individual learning needs
Assess apprentice competence through observations, practical assessments, professional discussions, and knowledge tests
Provide timely, constructive feedback to support learner development and achievement of qualifications
Support apprentices in achieving End Point Assessment (EPA) readiness
Identify additional learning needs and provide appropriate support, coaching, or referrals
Maintain accurate and up-to-date learner records using e-portfolio systems (e.g. OneFile or equivalent)
Guide apprentices in effectively using e-portfolio platforms to upload evidence and track progress
Ensure all assessment evidence meets quality standards and compliance requirements set by awarding bodies and regulatory organisations
Prepare documentation for internal quality assurance (IQA) and external audits
Requirements
Mandatory experience in operating, maintaining, and repairing the pipelines and control systems that regulate and transport gas. Overseeing pressure-regulating installations, respond to network faults, and ensure continuous, safe gas delivery across national and regional distribution networks
Certifications: SHEA Gas Passport. Ideally holds Level 2 in gas mains distribution. Technical Skills: Strong understanding of gas properties, condition monitoring. Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) control systems
