Job Description:

We are recruiting an experienced Domestic Gas Supervisor to lead and manage a multi-trade workforce delivering planned and reactive works across a large operational contract in Kingstanding, Birmingham.

Job Responsibility:

  • Direct line management of multi-trade operatives and subcontractors
  • Managing all working at height activities, including scaffold inspection and control
  • Delivering face-fit training and maintaining accurate training records
  • Recording accidents, near misses, safety observations and HIPO’s via the AIMS system
  • Delivering regular toolbox talks and maintaining attendance records
  • Managing absence, sickness and HR records in line with policy
  • Conducting investigations and producing reports in line with disciplinary procedures
  • Monitoring productivity, holding team meetings and implementing performance improvement plans where required
  • Carrying out pre-works, in-progress and post-works inspections (MSV) and recording outcomes
  • Completing 1-to-1 meetings and performance development reviews (PDRs)
  • Ensuring mandatory training compliance and supporting apprentice development
  • Auditing operatives and subcontractors for quality and statutory compliance
  • Supporting recruitment, inductions, ordering PPE, uniforms, tools and ID
  • Identifying non-conformances and ensuring corrective actions are implemented and tracked
  • Managing annual leave to ensure consistent workforce cover
  • Supporting complaint resolution and service improvements
  • Supporting ECO rotas to maintain adequate operational cover

Requirements:

  • Gas Safe registered with valid ACS qualifications
  • Electrical or M&E experience (minimum 2 years)
  • Recognised skilled trade background
  • Strong working knowledge of current building legislation
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and safe systems of work
  • Experience supervising multi-trade teams
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Professional, proactive and customer-focused approach
  • Full, valid UK driving licence

  • To check that the equipment and manpower employed by the subcontractor are adequate and that the works performed by the subcontractor conform to design documents, safety regulations, and to the quality level fixed by the same
