Job Description:

Here at Migrant Help, we support people seeking asylum in the UK. The small, yet lovely, garden is a place of sanctuary, where those we support can sit in the sun (or rain!) with their friends, learn new skills by taking care of the garden and get their hands dirty. It is a place for enjoyment, while also providing an opportunity to get involved in keeping our garden beautiful! We rely on volunteers to keep our garden alive, and welcome new ideas. Growing fruit, veg and herbs is a great way for the people we support to get involved with food and gardening, make friends and keep busy!

Job Responsibility:

  • Bring ideas and horticultural knowledge to expand and grow our garden
  • Run regular sessions with clients and provide guidance and support around gardening
  • Actively involve clients in decision making
  • Be empathetic and patient in sessions
  • Provide words of encouragement and motivation to clients
  • Report any safeguarding or confidentiality breach concerns to your volunteer supervisor as soon as possible
