Job Responsibility:
Support gardening activities at Caritas St Joseph’s
Help two students learn basic horticulture skills in a calm, practical setting
Help with day-to-day gardening tasks such as weeding, watering and deadheading
Support learning outside the classroom, following course plans and adapting activities to suit the needs and pace of the students
Encourage confidence, independence and choice
Help maintain the allotment and polytunnel
Support students to take part in gardening tasks as independently as possible
Follow health & safety, confidentiality and POVA procedures at all times
Requirements:
Knowledge and experience of gardening and growing
Excellent communication skills, showing kindness, clarity, and respect
Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail
Sensitivity and respect for people from diverse backgrounds
