Job Description:

Provides support for the shop with parts inventory, ordering, research parts by manufacturer and type, assist other locations by providing training and assistance to other parts associates.

Job Responsibility:

  • Maintains parts inventory by ordering and creating a relationship with vendors to ensure Perdue Transportation has access necessary to ensure our fleet has parts needed for repairs
  • Performs inventory tasks
  • Creates requisitions for part purchases
  • Provides excellent customer service to internal customers including Fleet Technicians, Drivers and management
  • Complete requisitions for parts
  • Order parts
  • Receive and put parts in their proper location
  • Manage stocked parts in inventory
  • Scan and track all receipts in SAP to reduce blocks and insure the vendor has been paid
  • Regularly research vendor pricing for cost savings
  • Ensure all parts are being charged out by techs in their work orders and follow up with the garage manager when they are not charged out
  • Complete spot counts and quarterly inventory counts
  • Track aged inventory and work with the garage manager to keep the aged inventory at a minimum

Requirements:

  • High School or equivalent
  • Experience in a mechanic shop parts position preferred
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Must have excellent communication skills, bringing demonstrated abilities of building solid relationships with all levels
  • Proficient computer skills required

Nice to have:

A CDL license is strongly preferred
