Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience in a game studio
  • An outstanding showreel/portfolio with proven track record of creating production-ready visual effects for characters, environments, and gameplay on shipped AAA or high-quality AA titles
  • Expertise with industry-standard VFX tools such as Houdini, Adobe After Effects, Maya, 3ds Max, Blender
  • Strong experience with particle systems, shaders, fluid dynamics, and procedural effects
  • Proficiency with Unreal Engine and other game engines like Unity, including material and shader setup
  • Solid understanding of real-time rendering techniques and performance optimization for consoles and mobile
  • Strong sense of timing, composition, color, and animation in effects design
  • Ability to collaborate closely with artists, designers, and engineers to balance technical constraints with creative vision
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Nice to have:

Experience with scripting or tool development is a plus
