Job Description:

Digital Sun is a standout studio in the indie game world. With three successful titles behind us, we’re always pushing creative boundaries and exploring new frontiers. Now, we’re searching for talented individuals to join us as we take on fresh challenges and continue shaping the future of indie gaming. We are looking for a creative and passionate Game Designer to join our in-house team in the vibrant city of Valencia, Spain. If you have a talent for designing engaging gameplay mechanics, balancing systems, and crafting compelling player experiences, we’d love to hear from you!

Requirements:

2+ years of experience as a Game Designer in the gaming industry or related field
Proven ability to design and implement game mechanics, systems, and features
Strong understanding of game design fundamentals, including pacing, progression, and balance
Experience creating detailed design documents, wireframes, and prototypes
Familiarity with game engines (Unity, Unreal Engine) and ability to collaborate with developers and artists
Ability to iterate on designs based on player feedback and playtesting
Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail
Strong communication skills and ability to work in a Spanish and English-speaking environment

Nice to have:

Experience with level design and creating immersive, well-paced environments
Knowledge of UI/UX design principles and how they impact player interaction
Familiarity with narrative design and experience crafting game stories
Experience with scripting languages or visual scripting for gameplay prototyping
Passion for gaming with a strong understanding of current game industry trends
Experience working with multiplayer systems and designing for competitive/cooperative play
A portfolio or examples of previous game design work, showing a range of projects and creative solutions
