As an intern, you'll support a dynamic team across development, production, legal, and marketing, and contribute to high-profile projects that shape the future of entertainment.
Job Responsibility
Drafting agreements for above-the-line talent (producers, writers, directors, actors, and casting directors), underlying rights, and marketing for scripted and unscripted streaming programming
Drafting projects will include producing, acting, writing and development agreements
marketing services agreements
option purchase agreements
and responding to talent redline comments
Sit in on production legal kickoff calls, department meetings, and marketing task force meetings
Assist with research projects and help synthesize deal terms negotiation updates, closed deals terms, and signed agreements between different departments
Requirements
Previous work experience in the entertainment industry, and basic knowledge of copyright law and intellectual property
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines under pressure
A detail-oriented approach, even when processing a large volume of documents. Shown ability to take initiative and balance multiple projects
Collaborative teammate who can also work independently
Demonstrate a high degree of discretion regarding sensitive and/or confidential information
Currently enrolled at an accredited law school and legally eligible to work in the U.S.
Completion of one year of law school in a current JD program at the start of the internship
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess unrestricted work authorization
Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
Available part-time from Monday through Friday, 9am - 6pm PST for the duration of the internship, 20 hours each week
Able to provide own housing for the duration internship program in the Burbank, California area
Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
