Job Description:

The Furniture & Space Planning Lead position at NTT DATA requires a minimum of 8 years of experience in a professional design studio environment, focusing on space planning and furniture layouts. Candidates should possess strong skills in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, along with the ability to manage vendor relationships and project coordination. A bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture is required. This role offers an opportunity to lead and mentor junior staff while ensuring compliance with design standards and project metrics.

Job Responsibility:

  • Demonstrate proficiency with demountable wall products, modular systems, and freestanding furniture layouts
  • Coordinate installation drawings with vendors
  • Conduct market research for new product lines and vendor/dealership quotations
  • Prepare procurement packages, presentation documents, and deliverables
  • Prepare and coordinate schematics and Design Intent Drawings (DIDs)
  • Create planning packages for interior renovations/reconfiguration
  • Coordinate existing base building conditions with interior design, FF&E elements and supporting technology requirements
  • Conduct site surveys/field verifications
  • Manage documents and project records
  • Prepare IGCEs for budget planning
  • Evaluate A/E construction documents, shop/installation drawings, specifications, BOMs
  • Monitor furniture procurements and lead times
  • Provide leadership/mentorship in the professional development of junior planning staff
  • Regular intervals of communication with project team and stakeholder Point of Contact (POC)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Architecture
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in a professional design studio environment
  • Minimum 8 years of experience with systems furniture, demountable wall space planning, budgeting, scheduling, installation oversight, punch list preparation, remediation, and project close-out coordination
  • Minimum 8 years of experience with specification coordination with vendors and installation
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to obtain Public Trust
