We are currently seeking a Furnace Operator in the Press department at our Monroe, NC facility. As a Furnace Operator, you will play a valuable role in maintaining furnace temperatures and ensuring materials are properly loaded and unloaded for heat treatment. As a Furnace Operator, you will collaborate with press operators and maintain a sharp eye for detail to ensure quality control. A successful candidate should demonstrate adaptability, willingness to learn, teamwork, and strong work ethic. This is a night shift position from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am working on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule. You will work 2 days, have 2 days off, work 3 days; then 2 days off, work 2 days, then have 3 days off. Training will take place initially on first shift, 6:00 am to 6:00 pm on the same rotating 2-2-3 schedule.
Job Responsibility:
Operate crane to load and unload car furnaces, maintaining proper temperature settings
Communicate with press operators via radio to coordinate material readiness for processing
Perform regular temperature checks using specialized tools like a barometer to ensure furnace accuracy
Tag materials using nail guns and maintain accurate records of furnace operations
Assist in general maintenance tasks and equipment inspections as needed
Requirements:
At least one (1) year of manufacturing experience
Successful completion of IME screening
Strong computer skills for data entry and record-keeping
Proficiency in basic math for calculations and time management
Ability to multitask effectively, paying attention to detail and communicating well within a team
