Job Description:

We are looking for a full-time funeral operative to join our team, based from our head office in Reading. If you are an empathetic, compassionate individual with great communication skills, this role could for you. You will be part of a committed and busy team that provides respectful and professional services to families in their time of need. The role is very varied and every day is different.

Job Responsibility:

  • Taking the person who has died into our care, showing sensitivity and professionalism
  • Acting as a pallbearer and chauffeur during funeral services
  • Preparing the person who has died for the family to say their last goodbyes
  • Coffin finishing
  • Preparing and cleaning company vehicles

Requirements:

  • A positive and open attitude is essential for this role
  • Willing to take personal ownership of tasks and be comfortable thinking on your feet
  • Respectful and professional approach
  • Must hold a full, clean, manual driving license
  • Be able to reliably commute, or plan to relocate, to Reading area before starting
