Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Fund Accounting Manager to join our team in Dallas, Texas. In this role, you will play a critical part in overseeing fund accounting operations, managing a team, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute your expertise in hedge fund accounting and leadership skills to a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage the fund accounting process, including month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations
  • Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements and ensure their compliance with applicable accounting standards
  • Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
  • Perform detailed analysis of financial data to identify and resolve discrepancies or inefficiencies
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of the general ledger by implementing and maintaining effective controls
  • Collaborate with external auditors during financial statement audits, ensuring timely and accurate provision of required documentation
  • Drive process improvements and enhance system functionalities to optimize operational efficiency
  • Provide leadership and guidance on complex accounting issues, acting as a key resource for team members and stakeholders
  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams to address inquiries and provide updates on deliverables
  • Take ownership of special projects and initiatives to support the growth and success of the accounting department

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a hedge fund administration firm, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Legal, or Business, with at least a 2.2 honors classification
  • Interest in pursuing or completion of an advanced accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACA, ACCA) is a plus
  • Proficient in IT systems and tools relevant to accounting processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to positively influence team dynamics

Nice to have:

Interest in pursuing or completion of an advanced accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACA, ACCA)
