The Fund Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the preparation, review, and delivery of accurate financial reporting for registered investment companies. This role requires deep technical accounting expertise, strong industry knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare and review investment company financial statements, footnotes, and supporting schedules in compliance with regulatory requirements
Compile and deliver financial data for fund prospectuses and shareholder reports
Ensure accuracy of daily, monthly, and quarterly NAV calculations and related accounting records
Maintain GAAP‑compliant accounting policies and procedures related to registered funds
Coordinate with independent auditors during annual audits, providing supporting documentation and responding to audit inquiries
Ensure compliance with SEC, GAAP, and industry regulations applicable to registered investment companies
Manage timelines for deliverables and meet tight client deadlines with precision and organization
Communicate proactively with clients, fund administrators, and internal teams to ensure timely resolution of issues
Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to internal and external stakeholders
Support process improvements designed to streamline reporting workflows and increase efficiency
Assist in managing relationships with third‑party service providers, including fund administrators and custodians
Oversee junior staff or team members where applicable, supporting development and quality control
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with an active CPA license (is a plus)
5–6 years of practical work experience in fund accounting, public accounting, or a related investment accounting field
Big 4 public accounting experience is a plus
Prior experience working with a registered investment company (fund administrator or investment adviser)
Strong ability to prepare investment company financial statements and supporting schedules for prospectuses
Proven ability to manage time effectively and meet strict reporting deadlines
Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information clearly
High attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to multi‑task in a deadline‑driven environment
