We’re looking for a highly organised, accountable and forward‑thinking Functional Skills English Teacher with experience of the City & Guilds FS curriculum and a genuine passion for quality improvement. You’ll deliver engaging learning in line with the EIF and champion the personal development of our learners, enriching the curriculum to build cultural capital, promote British Values, develop employability skills for release, and foster a strong culture of reading for pleasure. Excellent digital skills, creativity and the ability to bring curiosity and enrichment to every lesson are essential. Experience of Ofsted inspections is desirable but not essential; what matters most is a strong moral compass, the ability to meet deadlines, and a commitment to your own CPD. Requirements:
Hold a teaching qualification and where applicable, relevant subject specialist qualification - with a commitment to obtain the outstanding qualification within 12 months
Hold a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
Have experience in creating stimulating, vibrant environments which are conducive to learning and motivational for learners
Have previous track record showing achievement of quality targets
Have successfully produced accurate and timely reports
Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills
Can motivate and enthuse learners
Have organisational skills to prioritise workload to meet deadlines and targets
Demonstrate positive team working
Experience of the City & Guilds FS curriculum
Excellent digital skills, creativity and the ability to bring curiosity and enrichment to every lesson are essential
Nice to have:
Experience of Ofsted inspections is desirable but not essential
