Job Description

The Functional Safety Engineer on our team shall be responsible for safety work products development in several domains such as Software, Hardware and System.

Job Responsibility

  • Analyze the feature hazards with safety analysis methods to develop system-level Technical Safety Concept and Technical Safety Requirements, in collaboration with engineering competencies
  • Secure traceability and maintenance of the safety requirements within the project system framework
  • Guide and Review plans and guide competencies against methods compliance to method selection plan and safety plan
  • Lead the development of a System Core FS Technical Solution to include (but not limited to) the following key information – focusing on scalability and reusability
  • Development Interface Agreement
  • Technical Safety Concept and Requirements
  • Safety analysis as applicable (Fault Tree Analysis, Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment, Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis etc..)
  • Hardware-Software Safety related Interfaces
  • Standardized set of SW Safety Mechanisms with a high level of reusability
  • Standardized set HW Safety Mechanisms with high level of reusability
  • Act as the domain expert to resolve technical issues with OEMs, suppliers, and other teams
  • Participate and vote during the design reviews
  • Active participation in Functional Safety methods development
  • Be part of the team to develop and modify the APTIV safety process
  • Perform technical assessments for the system safety compliance to ISO 26262 and APTIV development process
  • Support Peer Review across the world as a technical expert
  • Lead and/or support advanced systems or components of new features or new technology from the safety perspective
  • Provide Change Request Analysis for Product Change Evaluation as needed

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in functional safety for automotive
  • 3+ years of experience in the automotive industry
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in electrical engineering, software or comparable

  • Strong systems engineering background
  • Manage of tools for requirements management (Polarion, DOORs, or similar)
  • Strong Automotive SPICE knowledge and V-model development
  • Ability to drive technical solutions for SW and HW design
  • Strong mentoring and team-building skills
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Written and fluent spoken English
  • Proven track on technical leadership
