The Functional Lead - Core Banking role at NTT DATA requires a seasoned professional with over 15 years of experience in core banking, particularly in corporate and syndicated lending. The candidate will be responsible for leading functional design, integration management, and resolving complex banking issues. Strong communication skills and the ability to work across business and technology domains are essential. Job Responsibility:
Own the end‑to‑end functional design for corporate and syndicated lending products in Transact
Lead and conclude decisions related to company and book structures, jurisdictional separation (ROI, UK, NI, US) and legal‑entity modelling
Act as the primary integration point across Credit, Accounts, Customer, Payments, and downstream systems
Analyse and resolve complex issues relating to holiday calendars, rollovers, revaluations, overdue logic, CIF/region validation, sort codes and account structures
Produce concise design and governance papers to support Design Authority and senior stakeholder decision‑making
Engage directly with Temenos product and architecture teams, reviewing and closing BRDs and functional use cases
Apply rigorous data analysis and impact assessment to support, justify, and defend design decisions
Act as a senior escalation point where delivery is blocked by ambiguity, legacy constraints or unclear dependencies
Requirements:
15+ years of Industry experience with strong background in core banking or lending platforms, preferably corporate or syndicated lending solutions
Proven ability to work seamlessly across business and technology domains, not just within a single function
Experience taking ownership of complex design decisions, not limited to requirements documentation
Strong capability to work in ambiguity, especially within legacy environments and regulatory constraints
Decisive, with a strong focus on outcomes and delivery
Comfortable challenging assumptions and explaining trade‑offs
Trusted by peers and stakeholders to “own the complexity”
Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with senior business leaders and technical teams
