Job Description:

The Functional Lead - Core Banking role at NTT DATA requires a seasoned professional with over 15 years of experience in core banking, particularly in corporate and syndicated lending. The candidate will be responsible for leading functional design, integration management, and resolving complex banking issues. Strong communication skills and the ability to work across business and technology domains are essential. This position offers an opportunity to engage with senior stakeholders and contribute to impactful banking solutions.

Job Responsibility:

  • Act as the primary integration point across Credit, Accounts, Customer, Payments, and downstream systems

  • Produce concise design and governance papers to support Design Authority and senior stakeholder decision‑making
  • Engage directly with Temenos product and architecture teams, reviewing and closing BRDs and functional use cases
  • Apply rigorous data analysis and impact assessment to support, justify, and defend design decisions
  • Act as a senior escalation point where delivery is blocked by ambiguity, legacy constraints or unclear dependencies

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of Industry experience with strong background in core banking or lending platforms, preferably corporate or syndicated lending solutions
  • Proven ability to work seamlessly across business and technology domains, not just within a single function
  • Experience taking ownership of complex design decisions, not limited to requirements documentation
  • Strong capability to work in ambiguity, especially within legacy environments and regulatory constraints
  • Decisive, with a strong focus on outcomes and delivery
  • Comfortable challenging assumptions and explaining trade‑offs
  • Trusted by peers and stakeholders to “own the complexity”
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with senior business leaders and technical teams
