Job Description:

Play a crucial role in the functional and disability assessments process, a service that touches the lives of millions of people in the UK. Work autonomously to assess cases of people applying for Personal Independence Payment (PIP) benefit or a Work Capability Assessment (WCA) as part of the DWP's Health Assessment and Advisory Services (HAAS).

Job Responsibility:

  • Holding telephone, video or in-person consultations with people applying for PIP benefit or a Work Capability Assessment
  • Assessing a variety of complex conditions and impairments
  • Using strong verbal communication skills and writing high quality, fair and accurate assessment reports using a special IT system
  • Working with line manager to advance professional development and career

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 12 months post-registration experience working as an Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD), Paramedic, Physiotherapist, Pharmacist or Occupational Therapist
  • Must hold full registration with one of the following professional bodies: Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), General Pharmaceutical Council (GPC)
