Job Description:

We’re looking for a Front End Software Engineer with strong React experience, and exposure to Java to join Matillion’s development team, working on our cloud platform, the DPC, and integrating with our AI product, Maia. You’ll spend significant hands-on time building production services, delivering high-quality features, and contributing to the team’s goals while learning and growing in a collaborative, agile environment.

Job Responsibility:

Design, develop, test, and release features for Matillion’s cloud platform using Java (11+, ideally 17) and React, following best practices in code quality, scalability, and security
Collaborate with your team to understand requirements, review code, and deliver solutions that meet business goals
Participate in research, prototyping, and exploring new technologies to drive innovation and improve development processes
Support and maintain production services, participating in monitoring, incident resolution, and on-call rotations as needed
Continuously develop your skills, contribute to knowledge sharing, and help improve team practices, processes, and workflows

Requirements:

Strong React and Typescript experience
Exposure to Java and a good understanding of OOP, programming concepts, and best practices
Experience across the full software development lifecycle, including CI/CD deployment, agile methodologies, and cloud technologies (AWS preferred)
A collaborative, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently, tackle technical challenges, and contribute to cross-functional teams
Curiosity, motivation, and attention to detail, with a passion for data accuracy, integrity, and quality
Strong problem-solving skills, inquisitiveness, and a growth mindset, with the ability to balance the big picture while focusing on details
