Job Responsibility
Contribute to the delivery of high-quality web software including requirements clarification, design discussions, coding, testing, and documentation
Spend the majority of time (90+%) hands-on coding, learning, and improving implementation skills
Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve code quality and engineering practices
Assist in resolving defects/bugs identified during QA testing, pre-production, and production
Collaborate effectively with team members to deliver against sprint commitments
Work cross-functionally with product management, QA/QE, and other engineering teams to support shared goals
Follow established engineering processes, standards, and best practices
Demonstrate a commitment to team success and positive team dynamics
Show curiosity and passion for growing technical skills in service of customers
Participate in Agile ceremonies (standups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and contribute actively
Requirements
BS in Computer Science or related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)
0–2 years of experience developing web, software, or mobile applications (internships and academic projects welcome)
Foundational understanding of software engineering principles and object-oriented programming
Experience (academic or professional) with at least one object-oriented language such as Ruby, Java, C#, Python, or C++
Basic understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Familiarity with web services (REST preferred)
Exposure to unit testing and testing fundamentals (TDD is a plus)
Eagerness to learn, take feedback, and grow within a collaborative engineering environment
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Positive, helpful attitude and willingness to take ownership of assigned tasks
